Hi,
For once we have a real winter here in Switzerland with loads of snow that stays and cold temperatures. THe knitter in me rejoice in these conditions cause they give me a good excuse to knit hats, scarves, mitts, mittens, socks...(and buy more scrumtious yarn !)

I read the Twilight serie last December and after seeing a pic of the movie and freezing my fingers off this week, I had to knit Bella's mitten. A real quick project: I started on Wednesday and I wore them on Friday !

Hats as Xmas gifts for my best friend and my Dad...

For Xmas, I gave knitted mitts to my coworkers and I'm pleased to see they wear their gifts often these days!

This is a scarf I knitted for an exchange on Facebook, it is ready to leave for Philadelphia and I already received a beautiful cabled scarf from Canada,

In place of a white Xmas, we will definitely have a white New Year ! It's been snowing non stop since yesterday night and my village now looks out of a fairytale :)

Felted Bag

Hi,

I finally felted the handbag I knitted on and off this Summer and I was surprised by how great it turned out !
I bought the yarn last Spring for a project but got confused and it wasn't the right weight. As I loved the coulour, I tried making a bag but without a pattern and here it it all felted and soft and PURPLE :)

This is the nearest city from my village in its beautiful Autumn coulours yesterday afternoon...

Hi,
I spent a few days in Bristol and Bath last week. I had a great time even if the weather wasn't very clement. I really liked the architecture of Bristol which manage to transform old buildings into something modern but without killing their history.

I also took the opportunity to finish my milky scarf (now called Bristol) watching UK TV in the evening (with some Cadbury and Ribena !)

And I paid a visit to Get Knitted in Brislington, I was a really good girl and didn't bought the whole shop, but I was greatly tempted !

I love Autumn, I think I always did, but now I really enjoy starting a new year at school, colder weather (and it's really colder this year), quiet time inside knitting or reading with a cup of tea, halloween, pumpkins, apples and grapes, Halloween and Christmas coming nearer,...

This are my just off the needles fury socks! I don't know yet if I will keep them or give them away as a Xmas gift...

This is a simple white scarf made of ... milk ! It's a new yarn made of cotton and milk protein, I found at Manor, of course I couldn't resist...

And finally my pumpkin made from scratch :)

Back to School !

Today is my last day of freedom before going back to school. Don't misunderstand me, I love my job as a teacher, but I also love having time to do other things...

This is a blanket knitted for the baby boy to be born next September, I just hope his parent will like the colours I choose.

It was one of the easiest knit I ever did, but once blocked I think it won't look to bad.

I also knitted a pair of socks with DK yarn. The colours are not exactly what I saw on the screen when buying it. I wanted something more red and yellow but these browns are already growing on me...

A late waterlily bloomed in my garden.

I baked thes mini-muffins for a pic-nicc the other day and I thought they looked good.

I'm not too happy with how I placed the cherries. I tried frogging them but the aida was too distorted, so I restitched them...

Arm Warmers

I already started my arm warmers with the BSA yarn bought yesterday.

I didn't intended to start them right away, but I really needed a break from the baby blanket I'm knitting these days, it's nearly done but it has around 510 stitches now and it's becoming unpractical to knit, so this change for a smaller project was more than welcome !

Today we went in Geneva, or Carouge more precisely and visited a LYS that we read about on the Internet.

It's called Tricolaine and sells foreign yarn (foreign for Switzerland that is) as Debbie Bliss, Noro, Kauni, Blue Sky Alpaca, ...
It's small but packed with temptation, and as you can see, we didn't resist!

I bought some cotton for a baby top (I have a few coworkers awaiting babies for next Fall), and some luxurious alpaca for arm warmers. AM got herself this beautiful sock yarn and a great book full of idea to use the odd skein you often get after finishing a project...

This is a small kit from Permin I bought in Brugge and started as soon as I came back home and finished quickly. Of course the major problem is framing and finding a small square frame won't be easy...
Don't be put of by the weird colours, it's just my scanner, in real life the blues are more vibrants.

Hi,

Mid July AM and I went on a little road trip to Belgium. We wanted to see (and taste) by ourselves if their chocolate is really better than our (it's really good,, but nothing will ever compare to the local chocolate maker, Lindt and Cailler !) , have our share of fries (yum) , eat a few waffles and visit old towns...

We first stayed in Brussel, it a nice city, but nothing extraordinary, and then we drived to Brugge, often called the Venice of the North. It a wonderful little city, with loads of old stones, trees and old shops. Their speciality is handmade lace, and AM visited all the lace shops she could find, while I took pics of old houses, bridges, canals...

I finally finished these socks with the yarn AM gave me for Xmas two years ago.
I started them to teach AM how to knit toe-up and they were a quick knit, except for the fact that I couldn't find the second skein for weeks shortly after turning the heel of the second one !

Belgian Socks

These are the socks we worked on during our roadtrip to Belgium, hence the name!

They are really easy to knit and we love the result. (Actually just mine for now, AM's will follow as soon as she gets a pic).
As usual, they are toe-up but the pattern will work with any multiple of 10 stitches, toe-up or not.
We worked ours with 60 stitches.

Feet:
Cast on as usual and do the increases until you have 60 stitches. The first 30 stitches will be worked in pattern and the last 30 will be knitted to become the sole.

Pattern:
Row 1: *k2tog, yo, k8* 3 times, knit 30.
Row 2 and all even: knit 60.

Row 3: *k1, k2tog, yo, k7* 3 times, knit 30.
Row 5: *k2, k2tog, yo, k6* 3 times, knit 30.
Row 7: *k3, k2tog, yo, k5* 3 times, knit 30.
Row 9: *k4, k2tog, yo, k4* 3 times, knit 30.
Row 11: *k5, k2tog, yo, k3* 3 times, knit 30.
Row 13: *k6, k2tog, yo, k2* 3 times, knit 30.
Row 14: *k7, k2tog, yo, k1* 3 times, knit 30.
Row 15: *k8, k2tog, yo* 3 times, knit 30.
Row 17: *k1, yo, k8* 3 times, knit 30.
Start again with row 3 to 18

Heel:
When the feet reach the desired length, end with an even row and work the heel with your usual method.

Leg:
Start with the pattern where you left it before the heel and continue with the pattern on the other 30 stitches.
Work that way until you've reached the desired length and then work 15 rows of *K1, p1*, or finish it as you like it.
Bind off.

This is a free pattern, but please don't sell it or kit it up without my permission.

Yarn:
Around 2.5 balls of RYC Cotton Jeans (shown in Mull).

Needles:
4.5 mm straight needles.
4.5 mm hook.

Skirt:
Cast on 106 stitches.
Knit 5 rows.

Starting with a RS, knit 6 rows in stockinette stitch.

Knit 4 rows.

Knit 4 rows in stockinette stitch.

Knit 2 rows.

Knit in stockinette stitch until you have reached around 6.5 inches from cast on.

On a RS, *knit 3 stitches, knit 2 together* and repeat to the end.(85 stitches)

Knit 3 rows.

On a RS, cast off 22 stitches, knit 41 stitches, cast off the last 22 stitches.

Chest:
On the 41 remaining stitches work as follow:

RS: Knit 2, ssk, knit until the last 4 stitches, knit 2 together, knit 2.
WS: Knit 2, purl until the lat 2 stitches, knit 2.

Repeat these 2 rows 8 times in total.

Knit 2, ssk, knit until the last 4 stitches, knit 2 together, knit 2.
Knit 1 row.

Knit 2, ssk, knit until the last 4 stitches, knit 2 together, knit 2.
Knit 1 row.

On the RS, knit 3, cast of until the last 3 stitches, knit 3.

Straps:
With the first 3 stitches, knit around 60 rows of garter stitch or long enough to tie behind the neck.
cast off.

Repeat with the other 3 stitches.

Stitch the back of the skirt and thread in all loose ends.

Belt:
With a hook (4,5mm), work a chain long enough to make a belt.
Pass it through the holes created by the decreases and tie it at the front.

A few weeks ago, I made this bunny for the little Emma (a friend's daughter), born just before Easter...

And as the spring finally reached us, we are enjoying beautiful blooms in the garden...

Here is the second part of what we were up to since December...

Another wee jumper and its booties for my cousin's baby knitted by AM...

This was a challenge between AM an another stitcher from her workshop, the result is not too bad !

AM stiched some bluebells from New Stitches for a pouch but she never found the right fabric to finish it...

I finally caved in and started a quaker. It's stitched in DMC 550 an all time favorite of mine...

My Xmas owls found a frame almost as soons as they were stitched...

My current on the needles jumper inspired by a film and the freezing winds we endured this winter...

I won't even try to find an excuse this time except for my laziness, but here are finally some pics of what we were up to this past months...

First a patchwork bag that AM made in a workshop last saturday (it was her birthday gift from me)...

You can also see a glimpse of my "new" car as I finally passed my driving license last December...

This is my birthday present (in advance thanks to the icy forecast for next week) from AM...

One of AM's cousin has already 5 grandsons and AM decided to do some knitting for them, hence the 5 blue cardigans personalized with their name on the zippers...

And our hats knitted by AM. Mine is the purple one wich was the prototype and ended to small for AM :) Hers is a really dark red, but the camera doesn't do it justice...

Another cardi AM made for a neighbour great grand daughter...

As for me I used the leftovers of my first handdyed yarn to knit some baby slippers for the upcoming baby girl of my cousin...

And I finally finished my Gryffindor scarf (once again the colours are a bit off)...

AM a tricoté, il y a un moment déjà, un pull pour l'arrière-petit-fils d'une de ses amies.
Sometimes ago, AM knitted a sweater for the great-grand-son of one of her friends.

Voila encore une broderie réalisée pour les ateliers qu'AM donnera depuis mercredi, plus que la broderie traditionnelle à préparer...
Cette fois c'est du Richelieu.

Here is another stitched piece foar AM's workshops wich are starting on wednesday. There is only the freestyle embroidery to stitch and she will be done with the preparations...

J'espère que vous avez passé un bon week-end pour une fois que le temps était presque estival...
Comme l'année vient de commencer, je n'avais pas trop de travail :D alors j'en ai profité pour faire un sac pour une amie qui est à l'hopital. Elle est littéralement en miettes pour l'instant, mais ça lui fera un sac à ouvrage pour la suite et comme elle aime les chats...

I used this free time to sew a bag (tote ?) for a friend who is currently hospitalized. Right now she is literally in pieces, but it will become a knitting/stitching bag for later and as she likes cats...

Il y a quelques mois, je m'en était fait un dans le même style, mais avec des tortues japonaises. J'était un peu sceptique quand à son usage fréquent, mais au final je l'adore !

A few months ago, I sewed myself a similar bag in a japanese turtle fabric. I wasn't sure about a frequent use of it, but in the end I just love my bag!

Ca faisait un moment que j'avais disparu des blogs, mais les aiguilles n'ont pas chômé pour autant.

Entre temps, j'ai obtenu mon diplôme de prof avec un 100% pour la rentrée (la semaine prochaine) et surtout, j'ai pris des vraies vacances sans mémoire à écrire :D

Côté aiguilles, voila une partie de ce que nous avons fait depuis juin...

Since last time, I got my teaching diploma and a full time position (back to school next week) and I had some time off without a thesis to write :D
Needlewise, here is a part of what we did since last June...

AM&Cie prennent des cours pour pouvoir donner ensuite des ateliers et au programme il y a le Richelieu (photos à venir) et la broderie blanche (qui ne fait pas forcément l'unanimité!). Voila leur coussin d'exercice:

AM&Co are learning new techniques for their upcoming workshops. Amog others there are Richelieu (pics to come) and broderie blanche (no idea what it's called in english but it was traditionally used to mark all the clothes a bride had) and even if this fatidious technique doesn't convince them all, here is their practice cushion:

Quant à moi, j'ai craqué pour une trousse de Bleu de Soie - Gourmandises d'hiver que j'avais repérée sur internet il y a pas mal de temps, mais comme je n'avais jamais trouvé les bandes de lin peintes, ce projet en était resté là.

Mais vendredi passé, alors que nous visitions un magasin de broderie où je n'étais jamais allée (pourtant à moins de 30 minutes de la maison), j'ai vu la fameuse bande et comme la propriétaire avait aussi la grille...
J'ai fait quelques modifications maison par rapport à l'originale, mais l'idée reste la même.
Pour la petite histoire, le tissu de doublure est un fat quarter acheté l'année passée juste parce qu'il me plaisait et en fin de compte, les couleurs sont parfaites!

As for me, I treated myself with a new sewing case. It's a model from Bleu de Soie called Gourmandises d'hiver that I saw on the internet a long time ago, but as i had no idea where to find the required painted linen band, I never wnet further than dreaming.

But on Friday, as I was discovering a LNS (less than 30 min from home :D), I saw the infamous band and as the chart was available as well...

I made some modifications from the chart, but the idea is the same.

The fabric I used inside is form a fat quarter I bought last year just because I liked it, and I found taht the theme and coulours are a perfect match !

Et côté tricot, j'ai une jacquette sur les aiguilles, mais la laine, très belle, est un vrai cauchemar à tricoter, alors pour alterner et reposer un peu mes doigts, j'ai décidé d'essayer la lavette tricoté (en coton) après en avoir apperçu dans un journal américain, voilà les résultats (la troisième pend déjà à la salle de bain !)....

Knitwise, I have a jacket on the needles, but as the yarn is beautiful but absolutely nightmarish to knit, I needed smaller and easier projects to rest my fingers. I saw cotton knitted face/washclothes in an american magazine and I decided to give it a try. Here are the results, with the exception of a third which is already hanging in the bathroom !

Comme c'était les vacances, je me suis offert quelques jours à Londres et entre une rencontre avec un elfe au Starbucks, l'approvisionnement en livres et une pièce de théâtre, j'ai fait une longue balade dans Hyde Park et Kensington Gardens avec récompense à la clé !

As it was the holidays, I treated myself with a few days in London and between shopping, book fixes, meeting an elf at the Starbucks and a play, I went for a long walk in Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens with a reward at the end !

Après le Bookshelf, j'ai continué ma crise de LHN et j'ai brodé le mini Acorns and Pines sampler reçu pour mon anniversaire et je l'ai fini en une bourse pour mettre les ciseaux et l'étui à aiguille fait par Mary Kathryn...
After the Bookshelf, I continued on my LHN crisis and stitched the Acorns and Pines sampler to make a small pouch for Mary-Kathryn's fob and needlebook...

Ensuite, j'ai attaqué (et terrassé !) Moon and Stars, toujours de LHN...

Then I started (and finished !) Moon and Stars by LHN, too..

Et, tant qu'à faire, j'ai aussi fait une bourse pour AM...

And, as I was motivated, I stitched a pouch for AM, too...

AM m'a fait remarqué que je n'ai plus rien posté de ses ouvrages depuis quelques temps, alors voila le rattrappage !
AM made me remark that I didn't posted pics of her work for a long time, so here is the upgrade !

Premièrement, le coeur en ruban qu'elle a dessiné et brodé pour un futur atelier si j'ai tout bien compris...
First, the ribbon heart she created and stitched for an upcoming workshop...

Ensuite, voila un set de brodeuse en hardanger pour l'expo de l'automne prochain. L'étui à aiguille est en cours de finition...
Then a stitcher set in hardanger for next fall's exhibition. The needlecase is being finished...

Un biscornu pour essayer un joli fil, mais le résultat est moyen...

Voila la suite des photos d'hier sur mes châles. Le vert (qui à l'air très gris sur ces photos) est mon premier essai à la dentelle au tricot et le bleu c'est le même modèle, mais en un peu plus grand et il partira chez sa future propriétaire jeudi prochain...

Hello,

L'essai au ruban d'AM est fini et transformé en mini pendoye, et histoire de continuer, elle s'est offert un nouveau livre...
AM first attempt to ribbon embroidery is finished as a little banner (is it the right word ?) and to continue on the same vein, she treated herself with a new book...

Parallèlement, elle fait une bande avec différents jours pour un futur cours...
At the same time, she stitches jours (no idea how that's called in english, drawn threads maybe ?) for a future class...

Et chez moi, l'étalage du fleuriste compte 2 nouveaux arbres et un panier...

J'ai aussi commencé le fleuriste reçu pour Noël, mais ça risque de me prendre pas mal de temps...

En fin d'année passée, je me suis inscrite à un échange de cadeaux pour les anniversaires et Noël entre brodeuses-blogeuses. L'attribution des partenaires se fait par tirage au sort et est gardé secret.
Voila donc ce que j'ai reçu de Mary-Kathryn du Colorado... (ma photo est pas terrible, mais elle en a des plus réussies sur son blog...). J'adore l'écureuil, il est tellement bien fait...

Last year I signed up to Becky's SB Birthday Club, and until last tuesday I didn't knew to whom I'd be assigned.

Hier soir je me suis amusée à teindre de la laine à chaussette avec une boisson chimique pour enfants, le Kool Aid (parfums grape et black cherry) et voila le résultat (en réalité, les couleurs sont un peu plus vives):

Il y a 2-3 mois j'ai contracté la fièvre des chaussettes...
Since 2-3 months I contracted sock's fiber...

La deuxième existe, mais elle s'est perdue. Cette paire est faite avec de la laine en bambou, super légère et très douce... The second sock exists but it got lost. They are made in bamboo yarn, really light and soft...

J'ai commencé un Little House Needlework (LHN) dont j'avais envie depuis longtemps...
I started a LHN I wanted to stitch for a long time...

Il y a quelques jours j'ai fini l'écharpe "Misty Garden" de Scarf Style et un châle super simple de Shawl on the Go (Vogue).
En fait le châle est plus bleu-vert que sur la photo et il est super doux (alpaca, Akona de Gedifra).
Some days ago I finished "Misty Garden" from Scarf Style and an easy shawl from Shawl on the Go (Vogue).
Actually the shawl is more blue green than the pic, more teal and it's really soft (alpaca, Akona by Gedifra)...

J'ai aussi fait quelques paires de chaussettes (3 plus une en cours) et les photos suivront...
I also made a few socks (3 pairs and a WIP) and the pics will come someday...

Snowed In

J'ai pas mal avancé la neige de Snowed In (SI) et j'ai presque fini le point de croix, ne reste pls que des kilos de points arrière. J'ai commencé cette maison l'année passée, maîs j'en ai vite eu mare de toutes ces couleurs si proche (blanc, bleu très très pâle, bleu pâle, bleu un peu plus pâle...). Lä je me suis fâchée avec le Père Noël (the Gift of Peace) et je l'ai puni en le renvyant au carton et en resortant SI!
I made a good progress on all the snow of Snowed In (SI) and I'm almost done with the stitching. I started this one last year but I was totally put off by all the white, light blue, very light blue, very very light blue and all... Anyway I had an argument with Santa (the Gift of Peace) and I punished him by taking back SI!

Voila enfin les photos de l'expo (en vrac, mais tout ce qui est sur fond noir appartient à la collection de Thérèse de Dillmont).
Il y a eu plus de 800 visiteurs, certaines pièce étaient tout simplement magnifiques, on adore ce château et j'ai même appris à broder à une dame :)
On a eu beaucoup de plaisir à faire cette expo, même si ça nous a demandé beaucoup d'énergie, donc la prochaine pas avant 4-5ans stp Pat!
(J'ai un nouvel appareil et je ne le maîtrise pas encore très bien, donc désolée pour la mauvaise qualité de certaines photos...)

Here are finally the pics of the exhibition (without any order, but everything with a black background belongs to Therese de Dillmont collection).
There was more than 800 visitors, some of the works where simply stunning, we falled in love wuth the castle and I even teached how to cross stitch to a lady :)
We loved doing this exhibit even if it involved loads of time and energy...
(I have a new camera and I'm not totally acquainted with it now, so sorry for the bad quality of some of the pics...)

On est toujours là, l'expo ouvre mardi et donc d'ici 2 semaines, on pourra reprendre une vie une peu plus calme! D'ici là il y aura encore Creativa, pleins d'obligations scolaires pour moi, autant dire que mes aiguilles vont prendre des vacances ces temps, et celle d'AM aussi...
We are still alive! The exhibition opens on Tuesday and that means that in about 2 weeks we'll have some free time! Until then, there will be Creativa, lots of 1/2semester things at school... Let's say that our needles will have som free time...

J'ai mentionné une fois ou deux une expo à laquelle nous participons, elle se rapproche, alors voila plus de détails...

L'organisatrice est la propriétaire du magasin Au Fils des Saisons à Colombier (NE) et elle a décidé d'investir le Château de Colombier pour créer une expo sur Thérèse de Dillmont (la femme derrière la création de DMC). Elle à même réussi à obtenir un prêt d'ouvrage appartennant à la collection privée de Thérèse et ça en vaut le détour...
A part ça il y aura plein d'ouvrage prêtés par des clients du magasin (là aussi il y a des choses géniales, y compris nos oeuvres), des démonstrations et même un défilé de tricots...
Bref si vous êtes dans la région, venez jeter un coup d'oeil, vous ne le regretterez pas et vous pourrez p't'être même venir nous dire bonjour (AM fera une démonstration et moi je serai à la caisse le samedi)...

Once or twice I mentionned an exhibition we are preparing, it's coming nearer, so here are some more details...

The initiator is the owner of our LNS Au Fil des Saisons at Colombier (NE, Switzerland) and she decided to attack the local castle for an exhibition on Thérèse de Dillmont (the woman behind DMC). She even got some original pieces from the privat collection of Thérèse and it's worth seeing...
There will be a lot of works from customers of the shop (and some pieces are stunning, and some of our work, too), some workshops and even a knitting fashion show...
If per chance you are in the neighbourhood, please come and you may even meet us (AM will be demonstrating some technique and I'll be a cashier on Saturday).

Jeudi passé, nous étions au Stitching and Knitting Show (SKS) à Londres :) En gros c'est un Creativa géant où il est très difficile de ne pas exploser la carte de crédit...
J'y était déjà allée l'année dernière et manifestement on y retourne en groupe l'année prochaine...

The Christmas charts are back at my fav LNS and the one I liked last years was still there, so I have a new project :the Gift of Peace !
I only stitched 30 minutes last night, so there isn't a big progress yet, but it will come...

Hello!

Une fois de plus nous avions disparu! Rien de grave si ce n'est un manque absolu de temps ces jours...
We disappeared again! Nothing happened except that time flew once again...

Malgré tout, je n'ai pas totalement abandonné les aiguilles, mais je me suis contentée de petites choses...
Pour commencer, si vous vous souvenez, j'avais eu une crise de shopping aigu pour des modèles de Waxing Moon il y a quelques semaines... Je les ai enfin reçus et j'ai brodé Leaves Turn Gold...
Anyway, I did stitch a little bit, but only small things...
First, I you remember, I had a WMD shopping fever a few weeks ago... I got them and stitched Leaves Turn Gold...

Je me suis aussi mise aux décorations de Noël...
I did some Christmas ornaments, too...

Parallèlement, j'ai eu des mésavantures avec un pull en tricot :( , mais j'en ai commencé un nouveau bleu marin dans une laine magnifique. il y aura une photo quand j'aurai dépassé le stade du jersey!
At the same time, I had a lot of problems with a knitted sweater :( , but I started another one, it's navy blue in a beautiful yarn and I'll post a pic once there is something more interessting than stockinette to see!

AM est très impliqués dans l'organisation d'une expo ces temps (je vous en reparlerai bientôt), mais elle a pris de cours de Boutis et fini son premier ouvrage hier. La photo suivra dès que la lumière sera meilleure car pour l'instant on ne voit rien...
Elle est également en train de monter pleins d'ouvrages :D
These days, AM is very involved with the organisation of an exhibition(I'll tell you more about it soon), but she started a Boutis class and she finished her first work yesterday. I'll post a pic as soon as the light improve, as for now we don't see anything...
She is also finishing a lot of thing :D

Dimanche prochain nous partons pour Londres (enfin!) où nous allons faire pas mal de shopping, manger de la nourriture indienne correctment épicée et jeudi nous serons au Knitting and Stitching Show (une sorte de Creativa géant) à Alexandra Palace :D
Je me réjouis...
next Sunday we are going in London (finally!) where we will do loads of shopping, eat some fabulous Indian food and, on Thursday, visit the Knitting and Stitching Show at Alexandra Palace :D

Désolée d'avoir disparu 2 semaines, mais la rentrée scolaire ne m'a pas laissée beaucoup de temps libre...
Néanmoins, nous n'avons pas totalement abandonné nos aiguilles...
Sorry for disappearing 2 weeks, but the start of the school year didn't let me a lot of spare time...
Nevertheless we didn't abandonned our needles...

AM a fait pas mal de couture ces temps donc moins de broderies, mais des nouveaux habits et pleins de finitions :)
Pour commencer, elle a fini sa pochette à bijoux...
AM did a lot of sewing these days, that means less stitching but new clothes and a lot of finishing :)
First, she finished her jewel bag...

Puis elle s'est attaquée au montage de mon Acorn Sampler...
Then she finished my Acorn Sampler...

De mon côté, j'ai fait qq points sur mon Dragon, mais ces cailloux me prennent trop la tête ces jours, donc il est temps pour petit dragon chéri de prendre des vacances...
As for me, I did a few stitches on my Dragon, but all these rocks are messing with my head and I decided it's time for my dear little dragon to take a few weeks off...

J'ai refais un signet en hardanger que je pensais donner comme cadeau de Noël à une amie, mais il ne me plaît pas, le fil utilisé est trop fin...
I did another bookmark in hardanger that I intended as a Christmas gift for friend, but I don't like the result, the thread I used is too fine...

Avec mon premier salaire, je me suis offert qq grilles Waxing Moon que vous verrez apparaître au fur et à mesure de mes avancées et j'ai également craqué pour le jardin d'automne de Victoria Sampler...
With my first pay, I treated myself with some Waxing Moon charts, you'll see them in the coming weeks... And I also bought the Autumn Garden from Victoria Sampler...

Le premier WM commencé c'est "Halloween Short Stack". J'utilise des cottons que nous avions déjà au lieu des WDW recommandés. La lune et le fantôme sont brodés avec le DMC "Glow in the Dark"...
The first WM I started is "Halloween Short Stack". I'm using threads we already had instead of the WDW recommanded. The Moon and the ghost are stitched with DMC's "Glow in the Dark"...

L'autre jour j'ai eu une gande idée: faire un porte clé pour la clé de la chambre où je brode. Jusque là tou va bien, j'ai trouvé le modèle parfait, j'avais les cotons et même le porte-clé en plastique. Je brode, monte le fameux porte-clé et toute contente je pars à la recherche de la clé et là pas moyen de la retrouver (je ne veux accuser personne, mais une certaine bête à poils à tendance à planquer ce genre d'objets tout au fond sous les meubles, là où on ne les voit pas à moins de déplacer le meuble...). Donc j'ai un très joli porte-clé sans clé !
The other day I had a great idea: stitching a keyring for the room where I stitch. I found the perfect chart, I had the right colors of floss and even the plastic keyring. I stitched and finished the keyring and looked for the key... I never found the key (I dont want to accuse someone, but I know a certain hairy beast living in the house who has a certain tendency to hide small objects under the furniture, and generally it's impossible to see these objects unless you move the furniture...). That means I have a nice keyring without a ring !

AM a bien avancé sa pochette de brodeuse...
AM made a real good progress on her sewing bag...

Et elle a fait un sachet à lavande en hardanger...

J'ai pas mal brodé sur mon dragon, mais pas de photo cette fois, j'ai la flemme d'aller le chercher dans la pièce d'à côté!
I stitched on my dragon this week, but no pics this time cause I'm too lazy to go and fetch it in the next room!

On pourrait le croire vu le temps... Mais non, les vacances scolaires ne sont même pas finies :)
We could believe it's already the autumn considering the weather... But no, school holidays aren't even over yet :)

Et je me suis offert une petite grille de Waxing Moon Designs, il ne manque plus que les boutons déjà commandé (avec 2-3 autres grilles de WMD, histoire de rentabiliser le port!)...
And I treated myself with a small chart by Waxing Moon Designs, it just lacks the buttons wich are already ordered (with 2-3 other WMD charts to justify the P&P!)...

Spring is late!

Le printemps est en retard cette année ! J'ai finalement ressorti la grille de "Spring is in the air" de Brittercup design et voila le résultat (j'ai changé qq couleurs), maintenant il ne me reste plus qu'à acheter et broder l'été et j'aurai mes quatres saisons....
Spring is late this year ! I finally dug out the chart for "Spring is in the air" from Brittercup design and here is the result (with some color changes). Now I just have to buy and stitch Summer and I'll have all four seasons stitched...

La vie de chat est incroyablement dure de nos jours, pour pouvoir faire un sieste bien méritée, on est obligé de se coincer entre un stupide ours, des bouquins et des oreillers...
Life as a cat is unbelivably hard these days. To catch a well earned rest you have to squeeze yourself between a stupid teddy bear, books and pillows...

OK on avait trop chaud, mais là il fait vraiment plus assez chaud et mon jardin commence à ressembler à un marécage :(
All roght it was too hot, but right now it's not warm enough and my garden starts to look like a swamp :(

Ces jours AM est motivée à finir tout ce qu'elle trouve et je ne vais surement pas m'en plaindre ;p
Elle a donc encadré son châlet sous la neige et fini son napperon commencé l'autre jour...
These days AM has a finishing fever and I certainly won't complain ;p
She framed her winter cabin and finished her pink doily started a few days ago...

En ce qui me concerne, je me suis (ré)essayée à l'hardanger avec un SAL de Dragonfly Stitches et j'ai commencé ce signet mercredi. Ca m'a bien plu et j'envisage même de faire autre chose en Hardanger (mais je ne sais pas encore quoi)...
As for me, I re(tried) my hand at hardanger with a Dragonfly Stitches SAL. I started this bookmark on Wednesday evening. I enjoyed this kind of stitching and I planning to do something else soon (but I don't know what exactly yet)...

C'est la fête nationale, il a déjà plu et il va très certainement repleuvoir, classique vu que la tradition implique un grand feu et des feux d'artifice...
Today is the Swiss national day and of course it already rained and will be rainong again soon, the only problem is that our tradition include a big bonfire and fireworks...

Quant à moi, j'ai commencé le mois d'août vendredi et je l'ai terminé hier soir. Si je continue à ce rythme (3 mois par an) d'ici 3 ans j'aurai brodé les 12 mois !
As for me, I started August friday and I finished it yesterday evening. If I keep that rythm (3 months a year) I'll have the 12 months stitched in 3 years!

Et hier matin au courrier j'ai reçu une nouvelle grille de Teresa Wentzler gagnée sur eBay: Castles by the Sea, mais elle attendra un peu sinon je cours droit à l'overdose...
And yesterday morning in the mail I got another TW chart won on eBay: Castles by the Sea, but it'll have to wait...

Ann:J'ai vu le dragon avec l'aile finie, mais je ne vais pas le faire car je n'ai pas assez de tissu et en plus je trouve que cela décentre un peu le dessin mais merci pour l'info!

Hello, je suis en vacances :)
Malheureusement j'ai plein de choses à faire d'ici mi-août (je suis apprentie-prof et cela veut dire cours à préparer et un mémoire à écrire) donc je n'aurais pas beaucoup plus de temps pour broder :(

Unfortunately I have a lot of thing to do till mid august (I'm almost a teacher and that means classes to plan and a thesis to write) and I won't have much more time to stitch :(

Bref, hier AM et moi sommes allées à la brocante de la Vue-des-Alpes and nous avons ramené 2-3 trucs.
Elle a trouvé deux années (1924-25)du Journal des Ouvrages de Dames en parfait état et reliées...
Anyway, yesterday AM and I went to a fair and we found a few things. She bought two year of an old (1924-25) stitching magazine in perfect order...

Quant à moi j'ai déniché un Cours élèmentaire de physique datant de 1923 annoté par un élève :) et des baguettes dont je ne sais que faire pour l'instant, mais très jolies et pas chères...
As for me, I found a physics book from 1923 annoted by a student :) and four pretty sticks useless for now but very cheap..

Coté broderie, AM n'a pas fait grand'chose ces jours car elle est surbookée (heureusement qu'elle est à la retraite!), mais elle a quand même commencé un châle en tricot et fini son Welcome...
AM isn't stitching a lot these days because she is overbooked (and retired!) but she sterted to knit a shawl and finished her Welcome...

Elle a aussi commencé une broderie pour se faire un sac...

J'ai fait quelques croix à mon dragon...

C'est la saison des soldes et dans notre magasin préféré aussi! On a acheté une nappe toute faite et de quoi y broder des grapes de raisin...
It's the sales again and in our favorite shop, too! We bought a tablecloth and a chart to stich grapes and wines...
